About Alexis

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a versatile player because I have played many different positions ranging from point guard all the way to center and I can also take it to the rim, shoot a mid-range jumper, or the three -point shot. I would also describe myself as defensive because even though I may be a taller player, I am quick and can anticipate the opponents next move.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am hard-working, competitive, and passionate about the game. I enjoy helping my teammates and team be successful, and am willing to take on any role that is needed. I know how much time and hard work it takes to go to the next level.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am an active member in my school's Student Council, HOSA (Health Occupational Students of America), NHS (National Honor Society), Environmental Action Club, FCA (Fellowship Christian Athletes), and Spanish Club. I've have also earned Student of the Quarter Award for the past 2 years and have made High Honor roll every quarter.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

In my community, I volunteer for many different things ranging from our annual River Run to the high school blood drive. Through volunteering, I've learned how to become a leader and use the help of my teammates to achieve our goals. I want to give back to my community because they never fail to show up and support me in my games.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

During the peak of our past basketball season, I suffered a mild concussion and couldn't play for 2 weeks. During those next 2 weeks, I struggled with falling behind in my academic work, headaches, and overdoing my physical therapy limits. But I learned to listen to my body and have patience, knowing that I can strive to come back better than ever.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a medium-sized to larger college because I want to be part of a diverse student body, learning more about the different cultures of my fellow students.
