About Alyssa

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a quick and intense player with speed. I fight hard for the ball. I can usually get around defenders and get to the basket. I have been praised for anticipating the opponents passes and being able to steal fast and often.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Sports have always been the most enjoyable part of my life. I have played soccer and basketball competitively my whole life. I have a competitive mentality. Most people who first meet me, might say that I am reserved or hard to get to know. Then they don't even recognize me if they see me on the basketball court. Something just comes over me, and I'm in my element!

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

WEB (Where Everyone Belongs) Leader - Club for welcoming new students at school Adopt - A - Family volunteer for families in need

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am a good teammate on and off the court. I am always encouraging when on the bench. When on the court, I am not a selfish player. I recognize that this is a "team sport" and understand the time to shoot vs pass. I have always gotten along with all coaches. I am not boisterous or challenging. I am a good listener and easy to coach.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I play ECNL soccer and have always been a high level soccer player as well as a high level basketball player. I love both sports. As a freshman in high school, I am feeling the pressure to have to decide on one sport or the other to focus on for the remainder of high school to give me the best shot at a college scholarship opportunity, and making that decision is the toughest decision ever!

What type of college are you looking for?

Ideally, I would like a smaller D1 or D2 school Missouri with a solid program. I would love to study criminal psychology.
