McGuire moved up 18 spots in this ranking update. Though the rest of the state has yet to catch up, I believe Alyssa McGuire Alyssa McGuire SG Marked Tree | 2027 State AR will be one of the best players in the entire 1A classification next season. She has already proven that she can score at a high level, putting up 40 points in a game in 2024-25.

That 40-point game against Armorel was what put McGuire on the PGH map. She hit 12 3-pointers in that game, hitting shots off the catch and the dribble, not fazed by the opposing crowd. McGuire took the hearts out of every Armorel player on the floor and every fan in attendance. That killer instinct will be very important for her this coming year.

The top 10 of this class is a talented bunch, but I would not be too surprised if she put herself in the conversation to be amongst that group.

Alyssa McGuire Alyssa McGuire SG Marked Tree | 2027 State AR put herself on the map after she lit up Armorel with her outside shooting during the regular season. #32 is too low, especially knowing that her play will drastically improve after Marked Tree graduates multiple starters.

McGuire put up 40 points on 12 threes against Armorel on the road. Her outside shooting has been on full display throughout the year, as she knocked down 5 triples in the first half of a postseason matchup with Rural Special.

She earned all-conference and all-state honors thanks to her incredible scoring ability, and you should not be surprised if she puts herself in the conversation for the top player in the 1A classification. I also think she will find her way into the top 20 in the state.

Alyssa McGuire Alyssa McGuire SG Marked Tree | 2027 State AR first made headlines when she dropped 40 points on Armorel in late January. Now she will be entering next season with an all-state nomination and I doubt she will be #32 for long.

Outside of Greers Ferry Westside and Earle, Marked Tree had the best shot at the 1A title. They ultimately fell short, but McGuire gave them a great chance at competing against those heavyweights.

McGuire emerged as a premiere outside shooting threat, helping stretch out the offense for Marked Tree. Against Rural Special in the postseason, she had 5 triples in the first half. Of course, this allowed driving lanes to open up and she often took advantage of that, especially if defenders were late at closing out on her.

Alyssa McGuire Alyssa McGuire SG Marked Tree | 2027 State AR has already shown that she can take over games with her scoring and I think she could be the best scorer in 1A by the time she is a senior. She might even be a player who enters the top 15 of the 2027 class in the near future.
