Amal is off to a hot start for a Walled Lake Northern team that looks like a serious contender for the LVC title this season. She impacted the game drastically on both ends with 23 points and 10 steals against Walled Lake Western, then went off for 27 points in a win against Milford. Amal pressures the ball to create steals and then finishes layups in transition. She buries perimeter jumpers and is a huge reason why the Knights are undefeated.

Amal as I see it, is the best point guard prospect in the LVC. Amal has continued to show next-level perimeter accuracy, ball-handling control, decision-making, and passing precision while competing during the off-season. Amal has a deadly step-back jumper from beyond the arc and also beats defenders off the dribble using a variety of attack moves. She throws one-handed passes on a rope for assists and creates turnovers on defense. Amal earned All-Conference First Team honors in 2023 and will be in the conversation for LVC Player of the Year in 2024.

Younes is a steady point guard who was in complete control for her Walled Lake team at the GVSU team camp. She has great hands and stripped the ball from a post player. She showed off her euro-step finish. She connected on multiple 3’s but hit a huge one to put her team up by 1 with under a minute left in one of her games showing that ice in her veins. Look for Amal to have a big senior season.

Younes has amazing court vision and is always pushing the pace while in control for her Mystics team. She did a great job hitting her open teammates in transition for easy buckets. She is not afraid to absorb contact while driving the lane and does a great job of keeping the ball wide to score against taller defenders.

I was really impressed with the way Younes played this spring and summer. She was a consistent scorer that showed the ability to thrive as a go-to offensive player. As a lead guard, Younes is an effective and efficient ball handler and distributor as well. She could put her impressive game on display for next level coaches in Grand Rapids.

– Received an offer from Albion.
Albion was on top of things offering Younes who is playing some great basketball this spring. She’s been a dynamic scorer for her Mystics team. In fact this weekend, at The Smoke, she was at it again with at least 3 games with double digit scoring and 1 game over 20 points.
