The Cadets lose 80% of their starting 5 but have a loaded bench of young players they can plug in. Without that superstar on the roster Coach Scribner will have to be creative and demanding of disciplined play. Morgan Steward will be the most experienced player on the roster and I think Samantha Eller can emerge to be a star in this league. Amanda Bates may be the key with her size and versatility she can be a mismatch on the offensive end for players.

Amanda didn’t get a lot of opportunities but she shot over 50% from beyond the arc and made at least two 3-pointers every time we’ve seen her. When she steps on the floor, you need to be aware of where she is because she is going to hit a big three at some point. She will get more opportunities as her career progresses and will be among the premiere shooter before you know it.

Amanda has a nice rhythm and rotation to her shot. A few times while seeing the ball go in the basket I knew it was her that shot the ball by the angle and spin as it went threw the net. She has the abillity to open up a close game with her shooting or bring her team back from a deficit. She gets a lot of wide open looks as teams aren’t hip to her yet, but that will eventually change and it will be interesting to see how she adjusts when they are keying on her.
