Another breakout sophomore, Amelia Faienza Amelia Faienza CG State New E gives New Britain a reliable third scoring option. Averaging 10.0 points per game, she has become a perfect complement to Christie and Lowe. Faienza spaces the floor effectively, knocking down perimeter looks while shooting 25% from three, and gets to the line enough to be the teams leading free throw shooter at 50%. She also rebounds extremely well for a guard, sitting second on the team at 4.0 boards per game. Faienza plays with an aggressive mindset, attacking gaps and forcing defenses to rotate. Her growth is equally noticeable on defense, where she reads passing lanes and competes in help coverage. With every game, she appears more confident initiating offense and creating opportunities for others. She is a two-way player who fills gaps and rarely disappears from the stat sheet. If she continues producing at this pace, she could end the season as one of the league’s most improved sophomores.
