Amira finished with a strong 10 points and 13 boards in Saturday’s contest. She was an all-around force around the basket and did a great job with her defensive communication. Her basketball IQ showed to be off the charts as she was again able to help put her teammates in position on the court. Amira will suit up for University of Maryland Eastern Shore next season who I believe may have gotten a steal.

The 5’11 forward brings a multitude of attributes to the 4A Eastern Regional Champions which has undoubtedly played a major role in helping her team reach the 4A title game. Offensively, she has consistently been able to knock down shots from the elbow. She has also shown the ability to put the ball on the floor when needed and finishing strong at the rim. On defense, Amira directs traffic, calling out screens and putting teammates in the right position. She redirects shots in the paint and displays toughness when rebounding the ball.

Amira Ofunniyin was excellent on the boards getting rebounds for her team on both ends of the court. She did a nice job stepping outside for the pass and finding her open teammate cutting to the block to get her the pass and some points. She uses her body well to protect the basket and move her defenders out of the way to get some points.

does a nice job controlling the paint posting up, flashing in and out for some points, and grabbing rebounds. She is an asset on defense blocking shots in the paint, too. She could do well guarding all five positions on defense showing versatility on both ends of the court.

is another one who can guard any position on the court. She cleans up the glass on the offensive side of the ball, and she can easily score no matter how she gets the ball. Back to the basket? No problem. Cutting hard down the paint? No problem. You get the picture. She does an excellent job reading her defenders knowing the best way to score her points. Her athleticism is on display with the way she can run the court and constantly moves on offense to shift the defense around.
