Big strides have been taken in Gulley’s skill set, and you can really see it coming off PNR actions while playing with true bigs. She has all the tools to create for herself, the speed, the handle, and the ability to knock down shots, but when she slows things down and shows her natural point guard IQ, it is a sight to see. She plays with no fear, and her confidence is sky high. Strong potential.

Gulley makes terrific decisions with the ball- I love how she runs the offense- she keeps the ball tight and secure, and you better have a motor to keep up with the high speed offense she likes to run!

Gulley just has a different bounce and flow to her game that usually older players have.. or players with extreme confidence.. and Gulley has that. She can stretch the court off a catch or from her own creation. She’s too athletic to stop in the open floor, and on the defensive end.. she’s a problem as well. The offers will keep piling up.

was younger, she was a firecracker. Someone that played with an extremely high motor and with extremely high pace. My only con I had for her was that she needed to be more efficient as she got older. Well, after seeing Gulle a few times this AAU season, it’s safe to say that she is learning at a high rate and becoming one of Illinois best overall players at the high school level. She is doing everything asked of her as a distributor, while also being someone that no one can stay in front of defensively. It takes her 1 second to blow by her defender and if that does happen, it usually ends up in a crafty finish for herself within 12 FT of the bucket.
All in
all, I love where Gulley’s game is progressing to. She has been one of the best I’ve seen on the road this AAU season at her position.

Amiyah Gulley of Mac Irvin Fire 15U received her first official D1 offer yesterday when the DePaul Blue Demons gave her a call. Gulley, a 5’6 PG, is the definition of a handful on the hardwood. She possesses a lightning quick handle, Elite vision, next-level athletic ability, a smart head on her shoulders, and she is the definition of a smooth operator with the ball in her hands. When coming down-hill in transition she is almost impossible to stick in front of because of her mixture of balance, body control, and touch on the basketball. This is the first offer but not the last. If you have known Gulley for a few years now, you know her game and you know that she is going to have several college recruiters knocking at her door before you know it.

Gulley is running with the Fire this season, and her style of play fits perfectly with how this program operates. Up and down, and never staying still. She gets to the rim in just a few dribbles, and her impact on the defensive end does not go unnoticed. Coaches should keep a close eye on this prospect over the next couple of years.

Another member of the Dunlap big 3, Gulley is a huge offensive threat that seems to have no limit in how she scores. Whether its her hitting angles to get to the rim, or playing off ball and knocking down kickouts, Gulley is a key part in this Dunlap force that is looking to be a competitive program over the next 3 years.

Easily one of the purest shooting forms in the state, regardless of class. Gulley’s ability to shoot the ball at her size is a definite separator between her and other guards in this class. In the open floor, she’s a problem as well—strong court vision, pinpoint passes, and speed that creates plenty of opportunities for her teammates.

“I’ve been on the road for 16 weekend this AAU season and I stand by the fact that Amiyah Gulley has one of the highest ceilings on the floor for someone out of the 2028 Class. Gulley is the definition of electric. She reacts quickly moving down the floor, being a handful to stop once she gets down hill when she is attacking her opponent. She has been really good yet again this weekend playing up a grade level on the 15U EYBL Circuit and holding her own. Gulley’s biggest challenge in her career will be staying in control. She is lightning fast but sometimes in this game, slow is fast and once she gets some more experience under her belt, she will understand that more and that will help her in the grand scheme of things.”

Gulley is nowhere near her peak, but you can see flashes of a commanding guard who can run the show with no lack of confidence. Her dribbles have purpose, she finds angles, and she knows how to play behind the screen. You match all of that with a sharp pull-up… the kid will be dangerous as she starts to grow into her own. I’m really looking forward to watching Richwoods this season.
