Admittedly, Gothmann is a player who sits right on the line between D1 and D2. Nevertheless, the 5’10 guard has one of the highest revving motors of any player we’ve seen in recent years. Annabelle is incredibly tough, plays physical, is highly impactful at both ends of the floor, and simply never gives up on a play. After another stellar season with the Minnesota Comets , the Milaca junior is set to take the reins for the Wolves this winter.

My first note on Gothmann from Sunday was, “This kid can play.” She has tremendous feel for the game, is a strong attacker going to the rim and is a very active defender with quick hands to create steals and impact plays for her team. She shoots the ball confidently both off the catch and off the bounce. She’s going to be a very impactful player as her career progresses and she continues to build on her current skillset.

Over the course of the past six-ish months, we have reported the outstanding play of the Comets Boone guard ad nauseam. Sunday was more of the same. She played with an extraordinarily high motor and seemed to impact every play on both ends on the floor. Her ability to thread the needle was on full display. It was a treat to watch the 5’8 guard showcase her skills both with and against some of the best players in her class. This showcase can be a great measuring stick for players trying to crack the Freshman 50 rankings. It’s safe to say Annabelle passed the test with flying colors.
