About Annie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Long and athletic...a power forward that can run the court and get to the goal. I think I am a really good teammate. I am so tight with all of the girls on my team and we all push each other to be better. I am also #1 in the state of MS right now with a high jump of 5'6" and #1 in the MAIS with a triple jump of 35' 10".

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I had 20 points and 10 boards in the MAIS Overall Championship game this year. There were around 3000 people at the game and another 3000 watching on TV. It was a big environment and I was proud of how I showed up.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Student Council, Homecoming Court, Class Favorite.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Since starting as a 10th grader I have really stepped into my role as a leader on the court. I love being there for all of the younger girls on our team and helping them grow.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

We have lost the finals of Overall both of the last two years. I am working so hard this off season to make sure we do everything in our power to win it all next season. Also, I broke my ankle in the 9th grade and had to battle back from that and basically finish the season on one leg. It really made me appreciate the game and how fortunate I am to be able to play it.

What type of college are you looking for?

Any level.

When basketball is not taking up the bulk of her athletic plate, Toler also excels as a volleyball standout for a Madison-Ridgeland Academy team that finished with a record of 29-8 this past season. Her Mississippi Jazz Elite 17U was matched up against a tough opponent in SC Eagles UA Rise 17U to begin Roll Tide Rumble but she held her own. At 5-foot-11 she is one of the tallest participants on this season’s travel roster. Her playmaking ability near the basket is complimented by her willingness to draw contact and find her way to the free throw line. Madison-Ridgeland is well-represented on this season’s Mississippi Jazz Elite 17U team as Toler is one of three from the Patriots on the AAU group.
