Kamiak sophomore Annika Hastings Annika Hastings 5'9" | PG/SF State WA is a big guard with great handles, and she is most dangerous when she’s barreling down the court in transition. She has quickness, strength and IQ that allow her to make shots that others wouldn’t even get off. She is not afraid of contact and flies around the floor on both ends. She is always looking to deflect passes and shots, and she makes the offense work for every inch. She delivered accurate passes to open teammates. I was not able to pinpoint any glaring weakness to her game, outside of maybe taking a tad too many risks — but I’d take an overaggressive player over a passive player any day. I enjoyed watching Hastings play, and she has a skillset that will take her a long way.

Annika Hastings Annika Hastings 5'9" | PG/SF State WA has taken noticeable strides in her development and continues to expand her offensive arsenal. The tough-minded guard plays with confidence and has become increasingly effective at creating advantages off the bounce. Her first step allows her to gain separation from defenders, while her touch on floaters gives her another reliable scoring option in traffic.

Hastings has also become a legitimate perimeter threat. She gets into her shooting motion quickly and has shown the ability to elevate over aggressive closeouts, making her difficult to contain on the outside. With a summer opportunity alongside Team Prodigy P32 on the New Balance circuit, Hastings will have a chance to showcase her growth against high-level competition and should fit seamlessly into a talented roster.
