About Ansley

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a skilled guard with a confident shot from the outside. I do a nice job of attacking the basket and use my length effectively on the defensive end. I have a strong ability to play the game in transition, and see the floor very well.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a God first person, and all my glory goes to God in everything I do. I always play to win and keep a strong positive mindset, constently encouraging my teammates, and trying to be the light everywhere I am at.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I'm a member of the National Honor Society. I participate in FFA, Student Council, FCA, Gifted and Talented.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Over the years I have developed a strong leadership position, and learned to break out of my shell by being more vocal. My teamwork improves every year as I grow as an athlete, learning to play with new players and making sure everyone stays involved.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

The summer going into my sophomore year I had to have shoulder surgery, putting me out the whole summer and half of the regular season. I was placed with a significant set back in my career, it changed my perspective on the game, I went over half a year without playing a single game. Keeping my eyes on the Lord and trusting his plan, I was blessed to comeback a better player than I was before.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that has a strong academics and competitive women's basketball program. I'm open to different divisions, but I want a program where I can contribute and grow as a player. A supportitive coaching staff, good team culture, and a campus that feels like home are really important to me.

14th ranked Navajo in southwestern Oklahoma are lead by Warren. Warren is a thief on the defensive end with disruptive steals. Also has a clean release from three, and college ready range. Went for 24 points in a recent win over ranked Class A Hollis. There’s usually a team or two ranked outside the top 10 of the smaller classes who gate crash the State Tournament. Keep an eye on Warren and Navajo to potentially do just that.

Combo guard that I truly believe is flying somewhat under the radar. Ansley brings a solid complete game for the Navajo program. The combo guard caught my attention this summer at the Expo with her jumper. Nice smooth motion at the 3-point area as well as mid-range. Strong handles that use nice crossover and spin move to get by the pressure defense.

The most impressive thing about Ashley is her game can be adjusted to any type of play. Meaning she just knows the game and can play the 1-3 position.

Small town shooter. Displayed deeper range during 3 on 3 play. And then got it going in the mid-range in 5 on 5 play. Forces the defenders to respect her range, then uses 1-3 dribbles to relocate into clean looks from the mid-range. While a lot of her damage was from deep, she did record a nice “And 1” finish late.
