If there is one prospect in 2028 who has caught my attention this Spring, it is Arey’a. She is a talented athlete with length, wiry strength, speed, quickness, and some bounce. But that’s not all. In addition, she has nice touch from the perimeter when she takes rhythm jumpers, but she can also get to the rim with relative ease. She’s a high-level defender who can go from trapping the ball with her length to sitting down and defending the ball off the dribble. Anderson has averaged 7 wins over the last 5 seasons, but with Arey’a (and others), they could be above .500 in 2026-2027.

This was my second time seeing Arey’a this Spring, and I’ve been impressed each time. She has a long, wiry-strong, athletic frame. She plays hard and aggressive at both ends of the floor, and she doesn’t seem to get rattled by calls. Friday, she was great in trapping situations, constantly getting her hands on balls. She was also good attacking the rim, and she was able to change directions off the dribble upon attack. I think she has a lot of upside for the next level, and she still has two more high school seasons left to go.
