Memorial Weekend tends to mark the wind-down of the Spring grassroots season each year. Moving forward, prospects will begin participating with their high school teams throughout June, with the focus returning to grassroots basketball in July during the NCAA's two live periods. With that said, I wanted to take a moment and highlight a handful of 2028 prospects who I felt really helped themselves this Spring. Some are already ranked and won't necessarily move much, but they played extremely well. Others are on the watch list or not even listed and will have a shot at changing their standing when we update rankings in mid-June. Either way, I just wanted to highlight the ones who I felt stepped it up when I was able to see them.

Carly had a strong end to the 2025-2026 high school season, helping the Royals to a State Finals appearance, and she has carried over that play to the Spring. She is playing "up" in 17U, and at times has stood out in her games. She has a steady, calming presence with the ball in her hands, she has shot it well outside when I've seen her, and she is a nice athlete in all directions. I like her urgency defensively, her quiet toughness and ability to absorb contact, plus she seems to limit mistakes and rarely repeat them. I would expect her to make a big leap next season at Roncalli.

At 6-foot-4 it's easy to draw attention, but with Naomi it's a lot more than that. She has an athletically strong frame, tremendous length, and she's a fluid runner North/South. She has increased her strength to where she is finishing much more consistently inside, and she's playing with a lot more physicality and determination around the basket. I know a number of schools are tracking her because she has great potential, and I feel like with a little more skill development and a bit of a mean streak inside, she could draw some Division I interest/offers over the next few months.

Reagan was a nice contributor for Fishers over the Winter, averaging 8.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and shooting a solid 32% from 3-point range. She has grown a little, she looks a bit leaner and more explosive, and she has almost fully transitioned from being a mid-post forward to a wing forward. Learning to play lower, especially with her handle, will be the next step for her. But at her size, I still like the versatility of her being able to play/defend inside or outside, and she is becoming a multilevel scorer. She picked up her first Division I offer this Spring and has drawn interest from varying levels.

Brooke comes from a basketball family where they all seem to play with a good understanding of the game, they all can shoot the basketball, and they love to be in the gym. Brooke herself has as much height and length as any of them, and she has been a key catalyst for the Lady Knights each of her first two years, averaging 10.4 points per game over 54 games, while shooting 37% from long range (85-229). As she continues to get stronger, look for her to play with a little more physicality, and rebound/defend better. She has already drawn some attention because of her offensive skillset.

Moving over from Mater Dei to Reitz this year seems to have given Rhyan quite the boost. She has played with confidence, aggressiveness, and she has been able to show her well-rounded skillset on the perimeter. She is a very good perimeter shooter, and that might be what stands out at times, but she is also a solid all-around athlete, plus she has a good handle, vision, and she can initiate the offense and find open teammates in positions to score. I don't know that she'll necessarily be a point guard at the next level, but that versatility gives her an advantage from the wing.

As is the case with many of the Pike underclassmen, the Red Devils are just loaded with talent right now, so they are getting glimpses of Varsity action while they prepare for bigger moments in the future. Chami should be primed for a big Junior year at Pike, as she is a talented athlete, with strength, toughness, and good all-around skill. She is a legitimate multilevel scorer who can make shots outside (36% from '3') or get downhill and finish at the basket through contact. She's also a high-level defender who can frustrate opposing ball-handlers. She has drawn quite a bit of attention this Spring.

If there is one prospect in 2028 who has caught my attention this Spring, it is Arey'a. She is a talented athlete with length, wiry strength, speed, quickness, and some bounce. But that's not all. In addition, she has nice touch from the perimeter when she takes rhythm jumpers, but she can also get to the rim with relative ease. She's a high-level defender who can go from trapping the ball with her length to sitting down and defending the ball off the dribble. Anderson has averaged 7 wins over the last 5 seasons, but with Arey'a (and others), they could be above .500 in 2026-2027.
