Expert Analysis
Jill Dunn | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
A post player that continues to get better every time she steps on the court. Her physical size and strength are a huge plus for her down in the paint area. She continues to finish well and is using an array of moves. Summons gets to the free throw line often due to her physicality on the low block and her rebounding skills. Ariel is a tough defender as well protecting the paint.

Summons is another talented and skilled player in the 2030 class. She has the size, physique and strength to go along with her talent. Ariel is a power forward that does a lot of damage in the paint area. She is tough on the glass on both sides of the ball. If she continues to learn and develop post moves and consistency in her finishing around the rim she could be a lethal weapon for four more years.

Even though SCISA 4A Ben Lippen was on the bad end of a 56-20 decision to 5A Division 1 public Mauldin, Summons still did everything she could for her team as she placed nine points on the board on what was otherwise a tough day at the office. Summons may stand at an even six feet, but she not only operates as a forward but also as a guard. That stature also gives her a big advantage in the area of rebounding. Summons may be young, but her willingness to draw contact to get to the free throw line is symbolic of her confidence. She is the lone eighth grader on what is a very young Falcons assembling.

We have had the opportunity to get a glimpse of Summons on a couple of occasions at the Southeast Elite Showcase. Ben Lippen of the SCISA 4A realm is a team that is teeming with young talent and Summons is one of those notable up-and-comers. Summons helped last season’s Falcons team achieve a 16-11 record which was a six-win improvement over its 2023-24 version. She played at the varsity level as a seventh grader in 2024-25 and averaged 9.7 rebounds, 9.3 points and two blocks per game. Summons – and the rest of Ben Lippen – appear ready to put the rest of SCISA 4A on notice.

Whenever Summons is summoned upon for playmaking duties, this talented 2030 frontcourt force answers the call. She stands at 5-foot-10 and her height combined with her length is a massive boost for the Falcons on both ends of the floor. One would not expect a conventional four to be as efficient a floor runner as she is, but Summons displays the speed of a point guard when she has the ball in her hands. Summons will get from one end of the floor to the other while taking care of the rock and she plays efficient defense in the paint. She averaged 9.7 rebounds, 9.3 points and two blocks per game last season as a seventh grader at SCISA 4A Ben Lippen.
