She is a very good three-point shooter who can knock down shots from deep at an efficient rate. Ashley is also a strong finisher around the basket and can convert with either hand.

Varnum has a productive summer. She received a few offers from local Division III schools and used her other time to take tours at some of these same institutions. Every program wants to add a confident gunner.

Ashley is a fierce competitor and team leader, serving as a co-captain while helping guide her team through the season. She will be playing on the Elite 40 circuit this spring after averaging 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. She helped lead her team to a playoff win before a round-of-16 exit. Offensively, she has deep shooting range and can knock down threes from beyond the arc. She also uses her size well to score over defenders both at the rim and on jump shots.
