Aubrey’s athleticism and versatility stood out with Team Eight at the PGH Illinois Freshman Showcase. She converted a nice catch-and-finish in 3v3 and buried a smooth three from the slot. Aubrey worked hard to apply good pressure on perimeter ball-handlers, called out switches, and pointed while communicating actively on defense. She penetrated off the dribble and kicked the ball out to open teammates instead of forcing up off-balanced shots, leading to assists. Aubrey used quick crossover dribbles to create driving lanes and wasn’t afraid to go up in traffic with either hand around the basket. One of her highlights was when she used a great high-rip move with a drop-step pivot to get a scoring angle, then went up strong off two feet to score the contested bucket. Aubrey was very active on the glass, and she sprinted in to secure rebounds.
