Ava is the engine that makes this Bucs team go! Flashy guard play; light on her feet. She was in full-on attack mode and imposed her game vs one of the best teams at the event, Royal Crown School (Canada). Any chance for her to push the pace was fully executed. Quick cross on the dribble penetration and slash to the basket.

Ava was at her best on baseline drives. Effective use of the ball fake. One of the quickest on the floor! She did an exceptional job pushing the tempo to get ahead of the rest; thrived in transition and showed off range with two straight-away triples. She can be credited for Team Faith’s second half surge to force OT.

Ava is a lightning quick PG who controls tempo on a high level. Drexel is getting someone who is excellent with the ball at setting up screens and using them to get downhill, hit the roller or get into a jumper. She is an exceptional facilitator in transition and runs the offense at a high level. Her international experience with the Philippines in the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup gives her exceptional experience in the international game. Defensively, she works hard on the ball and as an undersized PG she is an absolute pest for opposing PGs.

Ava was a menace on defense, locking down the perimeter and applying intense ball pressure. She made it so tough to get past her, keeping active hands and sticking with the ball, which typically left the opponent no choice but to pass it up. An absolute hawk! On the flip side of things, she was poised controlling the point, able to skate by the defense and get in the lane. With Big O setting brick-wall screens, it gave her the ability to get to work, whether curling around for rips inside and creating space for a long-range pop. Ava is a high IQ player.

Ava balled out today & did everything she could to help keep it close vs SJV. She ran the point with total control, pushing the pace & moving the ball up ahead whenever the opportunity presented itself. Her speed was blitzing, speeding past defenders to the basket & tallying points quickly. She stepped into 3 balls & showed off that deep range she’s known for! Very savvy guard play. She’s the type of player who makes everyone around her better & more efficient. She was named Player of the Game for Blair.

#4 – Ava is a true PG. With an elite handle she can run the show and make sure all her teammates are in the mix before taking advantage of scoring opportunities for herself. She split her time this summer between a talented Exodus NYC squad and with the Gilas Pilipinas squad (Philippines 16u National Team). She led her FIBA team in points and assists and was 3rd in rebounding for a team that won the gold in Division B. All that said, when you watch Ava what you see is a classic PG that controls every aspect of the offense from tempo to spacing to finding the best scoring opportunities for her team. Her handle is as exceptional as her vision, and she can attack full court pressure and turn it into points. She hit 15 3-pointers in 25 games as a freshman at Gil St. Bernards HS last year and that number should only go up this year as she moves to Blair Academy. Paired with reclassified transfer Priyanka Ponnam Priyanka Ponnam 6'3" | SF Blair | 2026 State NJ , this duo might be the best inside out combo in the class of 2026.
