About Avayah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

While building up my own stats and confidence on the court, I strive to do the same for my teammates. I am a huge team player and I love making sure the game is fun for both me, and everyone else. It takes a team to win a game, so it’s import at that we all work to help each other. I love to hear, and take in all that my coach, or teammates have to say to help me when i’m out on the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I make sure to always keep a positive mindset when on the court. Helping my team, and the other team up. Praising my team, and the other team. I have a very bubbly, but determined personality when i’m on the court. I just love an enjoyable, but hardworking game of basketball and that’s the image I display when i’m playing.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

At my school, I participate in the girls basketball program.. as well as the track and field program, cross country, and soon the softball program. I am also in the choir program and have been going strong in that, and performing arts since 1st grade. I am always looking to participate, and help out in things though.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I fall strong in many categories such as leadership, teamwork and more. I’ve always been a team player.. in sports, and out of sports. Helping others is one of my favorite things to do. I will do anything to put a smile on another’s face, and I will surely have a smile on mine as well. Hard work is very important to me as well, I make sure to work hard in all I do; school, sports, activities etc.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I certainly face challenges that stick with me often. Confidence is a main challenge I face, on the court, and off. But, I will never let a challenge bring me down.. I continue to work hard, push myself, and get the help I need when it comes to it because I am a very determined person.

What type of college are you looking for?

When it comes to college, I’m interested in one that provides a really good level of education. Although I’m an athlete, I want to be able to learn, and pass first. I am looking to study in the medical field. But, I am also looking to play basketball in college, so a college with high standards in both will be great for me. A welcoming college will also be great, for I am a very social person.
