About Averie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am guard who can facilitate the ball to my teammates well. I find great satisfaction in the perfect pass and my teammates scoring. I set screens and open the floor for my teammates to score. I have a real strong crossover and I don't hesitate to attack the rim. I'm a 3 point scorer who moves well off the ball. I can read the defense and am capable of guarding multiple positions.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have an above average mentality and I take Honors Math, English and History in school. I would say my strongest point is I am very coachable and willing to learn.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Red Shirt Student Leader upper class man support freshman 2025-2026. Club DECA which prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. 2024-2025 Principals Good News Card for Finance and Business Management at Gloucester County Institute of Technology 2023-2024 School Year.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I assist the Head Coach of my AAU Team with clinics for the younger players. I find joy in working with them and assisting with developing their skills. I attend all practices and basketball is always a priority. I work hard at practice and I set the expectation for my teammates to also work hard. I will respectfully challenge my Coach when I see improvements need to be made on the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I chose a high school for the academic opportunity available, which has been incredibly valuable. As a result, I haven't had access to the same level of athletics. GCIT is a Group 4, voted #1 in Gloucester County and highly rated in the state of NJ for academics. On the court I have to be mindful that my team doesn't have the same training or value the game like I do.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for any level of college basketball where I can play and further develop as a player. I want to improve my game with a Team that can push me to the next level of play. Academically I am undecided on a major but I value education. I want to push myself physically and mentally to be the best version of myself.
