About Avery

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am an elite defender, that aims to disrupt the ball handler's rhythm and deny scoring. I am an off-ball defender as well. Denying passes, challenging drives, and closing out on the shooter. I have high basketball IQ. I'm great at reading the offensive player's body language and tendencies. As a point guard I am a positve leader. I have exceptional ball handling skills to navigate pressure.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a desire to win! I radiate competitive toughness. I focus on things that impact the final score. I know how to keep my composure even when things aren't going the way I would like. A positive, but strong willed person.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I want to be an entrepreneur, so I have listened to Grant Cardone 10x series to help with my leadership.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes. My father passed away when I was eleven months old. He was a professional athlete. Throughout life and sports my mom has always been there to support me, but there are so many things I believe that my dad could have taught me that I have missed out on. Developing as an athlete, in basketball there are many times I've needed my dad. This only makes me stronger.
