Control, sneaky, and scrappy. Avery Banks Avery Banks 5'5" | PG IA knows how to control the game as a PG when the ball is in her hands. She is sneaky good when it comes to making an audible and she isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty or to get on the floor for a loose ball when those opportunities present themselves. Banks steady progression as a PG over the years has been noteworthy. Each season she is getting better and better in her off-time as a hooper, which we saw first hand this past Winter at Van Meter when she lead everyone by example as their main operator.

Avery Banks Avery Banks 5'5" | PG IA of Van Meter High School just received an offer from NAIA – Grand View out of Des Moines. Banks is a hard-nosed PG with a better than average handle, change of direction, and creating ability. She has shown off that she has the ability to take over a contest on either side of the ball when motivated. At the next level, Banks will be able to stay at her natural PG position as she continues to get better. She checks off a lot of boxes that evaluators have and she seems extremely locked in mentally right now. As long as she stays on this trajectory, she should be someone we talk about a few times this upcoming Winter season.

Avery Banks Avery Banks 5'5" | PG IA will return to Van Meter for her Junior year as their starring PG. This is not a new position for Banks and company. She has been the player to lead with the ball in her possession ever since she was a freshman, putting up some competitive numbers over the years. Banks has a quick but strong game with the rock. She is a creator and facilitator over other things, while being someone who can go get a bucket in the blink of an eye. Van Meter’s success falls on a few things but most importantly, it’s going to come down to how much Banks can produce on both ends of the floor.

Avery Banks Avery Banks 5'5" | PG IA of Van Meter High School is going to have an important season ahead of herself this Winter on the high school floor. Banks showed last Winter that she was going to be a producer for her Varsity program for the upcoming future but this season kind of decides to what extent. Banks has the potential to be a top prospect out of her Class moving forward if she continues to grow her game. She has demonstrated that she is very skilled and understands how to do each move/skill, it’s just always doing it consistently now. If she does that, I’m sure she is going to shine this Winter and the next few years to follow. In this Fall League, I would imagine that she is going to be an unquestionable leader with the ball in her hands but we will just have to wait and see.
