Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I am most comfortable as face up post player on offense, but working on playing with my back to the basket. I have great comfort shooting from the mid-range to the 3 point line. Defensively, I find that I am best at protecting the rim, as I have always had a knack for blocking shots. I currently average 5 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 blocks per game.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I am an easy going person, that does not get rattled by stress. I look forward to competition, and feel like I perform at my highest in the most consequential moments. I have 3 siblings who I have always played with, cared for, and help whenever needed.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I have been a member of our schools STUCO for the past 3 years, and serve in a leadership role. I have recently been inducted into our school's chapter of the National Honor Society. I am currently ranked #1 in my class academically, and value my learning above all else.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have learned the value of service to my community. I am always serving at both my schools and my church. I have had the opportunity to compete at the highest level (State Finals for volleyball my freshman year) to dealing with adversity in athletics due to injuries and small numbers of players. I am willing to help my team by accepting any role my coaches give me.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
I had to play/start on a varsity team with 7 players as a freshman. During this time I played the majority of the year with a broken finger, while having to guard the tallest, biggest, or strongest player on the team, as I played defensive center.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a college that will provide an opportunity to prepare me for a career after athletics. One where I feel comfortable learning, and feel the school also values the educational component first and foremost. Beyond that, I am open to exploring all opportunities that may be available.
