About Avery

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Pass first point guard who looks to push the pace and get others involved. Pressure defender who excels at in-ball defense and disrupting the flow of the opponent’s offense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a vocal leader on the floor on both ends. I’m extremely coachable and try to be an extension of the head coach out on the floor.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Volunteered for Special Olympics Completed community service hours for National Junior Honor Society Commit several hours annually to working with special needs kids

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I injured my foot in the early part of track season my freshman year and taught myself to compete in the high jump using my opposite foot, finishing as an all conference high jumper, 800, 1600, and 4x400 relay runner.

Avery sparked the Orioles as a freshman and looks ready to fly even higher as a sophomore. Avery is a crafty point guard who creates an advantage with her determination on offense and defense. Avery creates separation with her shifty ball-handling to score driving to the basket and dish assists. Avery works hard to cause turnovers with her ball pressure, shoots with accuracy off the dribble, and knocks down perimeter shots. She will be an exciting guard to watch with Charlotte in 2024.
