About Ayla
Expert Analysis
Ryan Oppenheimer | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Arnold’s unrelenting commitment to defense sets an example for her team. She never gives up on a play — if she gets beat off the dribble, she is likely coming from behind and hunting for a steal or a block. She seems to take pride in making life hard for the opponent, and she is always celebrating big stops with her teammates. While she isn’t a primary scorer, she’s been a steady source of offense throughout her Lions career and surpassed 1000 career points in January. The South Dakota School of Mines got a good one.

was a strong driver, defender, and galvanizer at the 3×3 Hoop League on Day 1. Arnold is a competitor and had positive energy and vocal leadership on the court and on the bench. She had a strong presence on defense, on and off the ball. She’s a hustle player who closed out, contested, blocked, boxed out, rebounded, hunted passes, and won the loose ball. She had nice, strong takes and multiple athletic finishes at the rim. She hit from three. The kid consistently works hard. Ayla’s West Linn squad went 2-0 on the day, defeating a fellow West Linn squad 20-12 and a Mountainside squad 21-15.
