Ayomide Adewumi Ayomide Adewumi 6'0" | C/PF Knightdale | 2026 NC was jumping in passing lanes and using her length to grab the steal. She took it up the court on her own for some fast breaks. She runs the floor well being ready for the pass in transition. She can set herself up in the middle of the press breaks to help her team get the ball up the court.

Adewumi is an excellent post-player for Knightdale. She is an outstanding athlete who can change a game in a variety of ways. She is an exceptional scorer in the paint, and Adewumi is a dominant rebounder. She also has a great feel for defense. Adewumi can lock down any player who helps her teammates in transition or the half-court. She can also force steals and block numerous shots throughout the course of any game.

Ayomide Adewumi Ayomide Adewumi 6'0" | C/PF Knightdale | 2026 NC is extremely consistent. She finishes with dependability around the rim and attacks the glass for Knightdale. She can change a game due to her ability to score in bunches around the rim. Additionally, Adewumi can drive with aggression from the high post and she is unafraid of contact in the paint. She will score around – or through – the defender. Adewumi is an outstanding rebounder who is grabbing over 3 offensive boards per game for Knightdale. This weekend, she scored 24 points on 11 for 15 shooting and collected 10 rebounds.

The last time Knightdale claimed 14 wins in a season prior to last year was in 2019-20 when the Knights were victorious on 19 occasions. Adewumi played a massive role in Knightdale’s winning ways last season as she nearly averaged a double-double while playing seeing playing time in all 27 contests for the Knights. In those 27 games, Adewumi averaged 10.5 points and nine rebounds. The stellar season she put together sporting Knights black and gold led to her landing a litany of offers. She received her first offer from Virginia Union in June and has since added offers from Howard, Bluefield State and Queens.

Ayo Adewumi is a difference maker on the court. She attacks the rim with an explosive first step. When Adewumi gets to the rim, she can score or get to the foul line. Additionally, she does not shy away from contact. Adewumi can initiate and score through contact in the paint. On defense, she attacks the glass and blocks shots several times per game. She is a competitor for the Carolina Waves that wants to win.

This 6’0 Knightdale High School star has a very bright future ahead. College coaches must take notice of what has been a VERY UNDER THE RADAR player in North Carolina’s 2026 class. Ayo is a super athletic wing that you can obviously see has some major potential. She can run end to end and has no problem with playing the transition game. She looks very comfortable with her back to the basket and has shown to be able to hit the turn around jumper right over the top of her opponents. She rebounds at a very high rate and does a very good job on the box out. She does a good job getting her hands up to contest shots and this gives opponents problems given her size. She is very active and brings energy every time she steps on the floor. There is a lot to work with here for programs looking for a high upside player.
