At the beginning of the 2025-26 season, Sims secured one in-state offer courtesy of Coker. Recently, the veteran star from 5A Spartanburg secured a second in-state offer courtesy of Erskine. The rising senior is set to play her swan song season as a Viking as Spartanburg is set to graduate its entire big three with the 2026-27 season. She played in all 28 contests last season for a Spartanburg team that finished with a 19-9 record while averaging 15.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.8 steals per contest – all of which were career-highs. Sims was also among the Vikings’ leaders in field goal percentage throughout the 2025-26 campaign.

Whenever one hears the phrase “Z for Three,” it typically means trouble for the team and coaching staff on the opposing bench. Sims is one of the most proficient 3-point sharpshooters in the state and that prowess from distance was once again on full display at Dawn Staley’s camp. With June’s camp month having arrived and left, Sims is set to resume her AAU schedule with BBB Elite 17U. Last season, Sims’ Spartanburg team finished 19-9 (7-7 in a tough Region 2-AAAAA). Competing in all 28 of the Vikings’ contests, Sims averaged 15.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.8 steals per contest. 

Sims is entering her senior season at 5A Spartanburg following a junior campaign that would see her average 15.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.8 steals per contest. One of the Vikings’ contests that day would see Sims’ team match up against Chapin. As the contest wore on, Sims began finding her groove from distance as she would connect on a pair of 3-point attempts. She also displayed her playmaking capabilities on the defensive end as she managed to come in from seemingly out of nowhere to come away with steals. Sims has played her final travel season with Carolina All In 17U. 

The Vikings of 5A Division 1 Spartanburg have made plenty of noise this season with its undefeated start to the 2025-26 campaign. Sims spearheaded a Vikings effort with 20 points that completely overwhelmed its adversaries of 2A High Point Academy. Sims may have had more but the contest was so lopsided that it gave her plenty of time to observe the action from the bench. Sims can display her accuracy from behind the 3-point arc but can also finish strong at the cup – either in her team’s half-court offense or in transition. So much of Sims’ offense is a byproduct of her defense and she also greatly bolsters Spartanburg’s rebounding efforts. 

The Lions of NCHSAA 8A West Charlotte gave Spartanburg – the top-ranked team in 5A Division 1 – a stiff test as the Vikings looked to preserve its undefeated season. The seven points that were scored courtesy of Sims played their part in running Spartanburg’s record to 9-0. Sims brings plenty of energy every time she steps on the court – especially on the defensive end of the floor. She can come from seemingly out of nowhere to deflect an opposing team’s pass or collect a steal to give her team an additional offensive possession. One also has to look out for Sims from behind the arc as she has displayed in previous contests that she can be accurate from 3-point range. 

Sims, a Team Goodson notable from the weekend’s event, was one of the names we at Prep Girls Hoops remember from the SC Live Team Camp that took place two months ago at Riverview Park in North Augusta. She concluded her 2025 grassroots season with BBB Elite 2027 E40. She has a high basketball IQ and knows how to get herself in position to make the right plays at the right times. Listed at 5-foot-6, she can give a team worthwhile minutes as either a one or a two. When she attacks the rim, she can do so by either going the full distance to the basket or by connecting on a floater. Sims put together a notable season for 5A Division 2 Spartanburg last season, averaging 10.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and two steals a game for the Vikings.
