Wright was one of two names representing 5A Chapin at this year’s SCBCA Elite Camp. She displayed on Saturday in North Charleston exactly why she garnered so much playing time in her first season with the Eagles – Wright competed in 25 contests last season. Standing at 5-foot-6, Wright thrives at the three. Collecting steals and creating additional offensive possessions for her team is merely one positive element to Wright’s game – as is the ability to find spacing as if she were a traditional big. Wright has maintained an active athletic schedule throughout her career which has also include cheer and volleyball.

There will be a pair of 5A Chapin representatives on hand at the SCBCA Elite Camp. Wright will be one of them and completed a 2025-26 season where she competed in 25 games for the Eagles. Wright has kept an active athletic schedule over the years including track, cheer and volleyball in addition to basketball. She was one of three from the class of 2028 that was part of last season’s Chapin team that was the first year of coach Terence Jones’ tenure with the Eagles. Since Chapin graduated six seniors from last season’s team, it creates opportunities for names such as Wright to embrace that “next woman up” mentality.

Wright and her 5A Chapin assembling would be in a tough contest with another 5A squad in Spartanburg. She would lead her Eagles with a 19-point performance on Friday afternoon. Wright knew that she would have a matchup advantage and took full advantage of it with high-percentage buckets. In addition, she would display her offensive versatility with her 3-point shot. Wright primarily played as a big in the contest with the Vikings even though she is listed on Chapin’s roster as a three forward. She played in 25 games last season in an Eagles uniform and was one of three from the class of 2028 on last season’s Chapin team that was a 5A Division 2 Lower State semifinalist.

The second half of what is now 5A Division 2 Chapin’s sister act is more of an interior presence. Wright is advancing into her sophomore season and has a bit more high school experience on her resume than the typical 2028 given she first played at the varsity level in the eighth grade. In her freshman season at Denmark-Olar, she competed in 22 games. If she along with Coach Jones, brings the same winning basketball that Vikings fans have become accustomed to, the transfer of Wright to the Eagles has the potential to shake up the 5A Division 2 landscape.

The sister act of Amoria and Azauria have taken their talents from 1A Denmark-Olar to the Eagles’ nest that is 5A Division 2 Chapin. Wright will keep her hands outstretched on several occasions when she is on defense, brings a solid presence in the interior and is a very efficient rebounder. Wright competed initially at the varsity level as an eighth grader and played 22 contests for Denmark-Olar last season as a freshman. She was third among the Vikings in both rebounding and blocked shots. Wright primarily operates in the frontcourt at the four. She joins an Eagles team that qualified for the Lower State quarterfinals in 2024-25.
