About Bayleigh

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I normally play guard although i'm pretty short at 5’3. I would say i’m a smart player and a pest on defense. I make it hard for the offense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am dedicated and focused. I’m in the gym 5 days a week training to get better. I don’t let my mistakes get me down. I learn and correct mistakes. I have a positive attitude also for me and my teammates. I am a little shy but staring to come out of my shell . I am very like able. I like to stay out of the drama. I like to surround myself with positive people.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I play basket at Pocola High school. I have received citizenship awards at school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Being a basketball player takes team work or you aren’t winning. I try to lead by example showing up early being the last to leave.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I was born with moderate to severe hearing loss. I received my first cochlear implant when I was 5 and my second at 6. I was in speech from the time I was born till 7th grade. Having hearing loss has caused a few obstacles but I don’t let it stop me. I put in extra gym time with my team, open gym and private lessons.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am wanting to be a marine biologist or a veterinarian. I am happy with going to a JUCO out of high school and hopefully play basketball. After my associates at a JUCO then I will see what university to transfer to.

Davis was unafraid to drive into teeth of the defense to set up her teammates with good kick outs. There was even twice during 5 on 5 play that she crashed weakside and got weakside putbacks. One potential area of improvement, there looked to be a hitch in her shot during a missed free throw.
