She had an impressive summer setting club records with around 500 points while knocking down 87 three-pointers at a 44%. During her freshman season at Southside, Baxter had several standout performances. Including 16 points against Nashville, 25 against Stuttgart, 20 against Wynne, 19 against Lonoke, and 23 against Forest City. She finished the season with 71 made three-pointers. In additions to that she went 33-for-36 from the free-throw line. Baxter averaged 14 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals per game. She averaged 17 points in conference play and 20 points during regionals.

Her strong freshman campaign earned her All-State, All-Region, and All-Conference honors. Her ranking continues to rise as she establishes herself as a player to watch. Baxter excels at attacking the basket and is not easily affected by contact, while her 5’8” frame allows her to finish over defenders. However, her biggest strength is undoubtedly her shooting ability. She is an extremely consistent three-point shooter. Her ability to knock down shots from deep forces defenders to close out, opening up driving lanes for her to attack the basket. With her combination of size, scoring ability, shooting, and playmaking, Baxter is a player who should continue to draw plenty of attention.

This past summer with Shock Hoops, Baxter went off! She set club records with 499 points (the most points scored during a summer) and 87 made triples (the most made threes in a summer). Her shooting was off the charts, as she shot nearly 44% from beyond the arc this summer. She even had a massive 31-point outburst against a squad from Illinois in Shock’s last session.

Her play with Southside Batesville during her freshman year was also stellar. She averaged 14 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals a game. However, a sign of a great basketball player is when they meet better opponents, and they still play well. Baxter did that in conference play, averaging 17.5 points per game, as well as in regionals, putting up 20 per contest.

Baxter has been killing it during Southside Charter team camps and with her AAU squad, the Outlaws. It has been apparent thus far that one of Baxter’s greatest strengths is her 3-point shooting. She is automatic off the catch and the bounce, killing the defense with her quick release. If the defense sags off of her just a little bit, she will not hesitate to pull it from deep, watching it burn the net on the way down.

With her 5’8″ frame, she can attack the basket as well, finishing up and over the defense, not being bothered by contact. Because Baxter is such a strong perimeter shooter, she will find several open lanes to the basket.
