A shooter and scoring machine last season. She broke the school record for points in a game. Quick, and crafty she might light up the scoreboard at any given moment.

How do you think your AAU & HS summer league went? What is your outlook on your upcoming season?rn-For my AAU team, we had a strong outing in California, Arizona, and Chicago… only losing twice in all those tournaments. We look forward to our last tournament in Roseville, CA this coming weekend. On my Kamiak team, we had some surprisingly good wins and games. We ended up registering last minute at the Baden Summer Jam Showcase, and although we didn’t win any games, I think we had a strong showing… only losing by a couple points against state contending teams in 3A and 4A. I think this new roster of small, but fast/athletic guards will help us win our conference in WESCO 4A and reach our goal to make it to the Tacoma Dome.
What are some things that stand out about your game? Things that coaches can see and know you excel atrn-I think some things that stand out when I play is the encouragement and positivity I spread throughout both teams. Being an undersized guard, coaches can’t really see your true character through film or just a write-up. I think the energy I bring on the court is very consistent. It helps when I’m always looking to create for others and myself. I feel that I’m very trusted especially with the ball, so that makes the game much easier for everyone to be involved and how my teammates love to work with/around me.
What are you looking for in a school beyond HS?rn-Personally, I’m looking for a college that excels in the STEM program. I plan on majoring in engineering and getting a masters degree. I’m not sure which one specifically yet; It is between mechanical or aerospace. On the basketball side, I’m looking for a program that includes hard-working players but also has a good vibe so that chemistry comes easy within the team. I don’t have a preference when it comes to playing style. I think that’s what separates me from other guards, the ability to still succeed as a point guard whether the program likes to push the ball or run set plays at half-court.
Have you been in contact with any coaches/schools? If so, what schools?rn-The recruiting process started off well, with my first call with Eastern my freshman year. Throughout the years, I’ve been invited to and attended camps on the west coast. However, I’ve had opportunities to attend camps on the east coast, such as Columbia University. Playing on the east coast is a big dream of mine yet it’s tough to put myself out there since the farthest east my club team travels to is Chicago. Some schools I still talk to are Northwest Nazerene, Columbia, Idaho St, UC Santa Barbara, and Cal Poly. However most of those schools are not looking for the guard positions in my class anymore… so really finding a program that is still recruiting a point guard is key and partly luck since most colleges and coaches are strictly looking for forwards and centers. I’ll most definitely start contacting schools that are recruiting my positions before HS season starts, and even for this last AAU tournament.
What do you want to improve on most in your game before playing at the next level?rn-I’m mostly improving/working on my general strength. As an undersized point guard, again, I’m matched up against girls 3-4 inches taller than me. Especially when I play at the next level, I’m going to have to build much more muscle to make up for height when these players are just as fast or athletic as me. Obviously I’ll have to find the happy medium of becoming stronger without losing my quickness or explosiveness since that’s a major part and also an advantage in my game. I’ve already gained 3 pounds (hopefully of muscle) since the spring. I look forward to keep gaining muscle and weight but it’ll be hard since I also run cross country and track which requires a lighter stature. Other than that, expanding my range and consistency on the court since it’ll be required in college but it’ll also help pose me as a bigger threat so I could help create more shots and opportunities for others on my club and high school team.

Bella impressed with her quickness and shooting. It was no surprise in the shooting department. She got buckets in a big way last season from three. She has a smooth shot and shoots it with ease. She handles the ball well and did a good job of driving and kicking it out. Her free throws were flawless. I use free throws as a good gauge for shooters. Not one player I have listed here has failed that. Broom, Aluas, and Bella all have great shot mechanics.

How do you think your team and yourself performed throughout this season?rn-I think our team did pretty well, even advancing 1 more game into the playoffs than last year. Although we started to burn out towards the end of the season, including myself. Other than that, I definitely think we could’ve went farther!
What was the biggest obstacle you and your team faced this season?rn-The biggest obstacle was to motivate everyone. Our energy at practices would be inconsistent and led to a lot of ups and downs come game time. Furthermore, also encouraging everyone’s potential when we’d fall into a hole like when we went on an 8 streak loss.
What do you think you improved most on the court?rn-This year I shot from everywhere on the court… usually I rarely shoot 3’s however I knew I needed the confidence to make those shots in order for our team to be successful.
What are you looking to improve before next season?rn-Next season, I’m looking for a good play off run and maybe state? We are in the process of assigning a new head coach, so finding the right fit includes being able to adapt to each other as quick as possible. For myself, I look forward to set new scoring records and overall end on a good note.
Who are some teammates that you think stood out this season? Who are some teammates who could have breakout years next year in your eyes?rn-Throughout this past season, I think Nayella George Nayella George 5'10" | PF Kamiak | 2023 WA , and Vivian and Synclair Mawudeku stepped up. Unfortunately we will be losing our tallest girls, Nayella and Abbie, but I look forward to a year full of fast guards. I think the Mawudeku sisters will play an important role as they have a defensive heavy mindset. Along side with Brooklyn Huguenin and Finley Gonzales who are great spot up shooters and are playing club basketball this summer.

Had some impressive scoring games, knocking down threes at an elite level. She has a quick release and can shoot it from anywhere anytime. If she didn’t break the single game scoring record she was close a few times.

I’m not sure if it’s a school record but she did drop 40 points in the season opening 79-30 win over Mount Vernon. The dynamic quick guard is a blur on the floor. She gets to the basket in a hurry. She has an arsenal that includes step back threes and pull up jumpers. She has a beautiful smooth shot from distance. That quickness is what makes her a playmaking and scoring guard that will blow by the defense or knock down open threes consistently. Dynamic player.
