Altenburg has occupied the top spot in South Dakota’s 2027 rankings from the beginning, and the Nebraska commit continues to justify that position. At 5-foot-10 with excellent length, Altenburg is a complete, versatile guard who creates offense at all three levels. She’s an elite perimeter shooter, an accomplished ball handler and a gifted playmaker with exceptional court vision. Brinley understands pace, creates her own shot under pressure and consistently puts teammates in advantageous positions. She’s also an intense defender whose strength has continued to improve. After competing against elite national talent on the EYBL circuit with All-Iowa Attack, Altenburg is a national top 100 prospect who has the tools to eventually make an impact at the high-major level.

‘s recruitment has been ON FIRE for being a prospect out of the 2027 Class. Altenburg over the last couple of days has picked up offers from Ohio State, Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa State, and of course, Iowa. When I saw Altenburg competing up a grade level this year with her AIA 16U EYBL team, it wasn’t hard to tell that she was a future Power-5 D1 player competing out on the floor. I’m sure by the time she gets to being a Senior, she will have 30+ D1 offers but until then, I’m sure she is just going to keep on working.

Brinley is a rising star in South Dakota basketball. Heading into her sophomore season at Sioux Falls Jefferson she already has vital experience from both her AAU experience with All Iowa Attack and her varsity level playing time at Jefferson. She is a complete guard that has one of the most explosive games in the state of South Dakota. An elite scorer she can knock down threes, create shots in the mid-range, and use her quickness to get to the rim and finish. Defensively she gets after it with great intensity and a really high basketball IQ. With offers from D1 schools like South Dakota State University, University of South Dakota, Creighton, and Drake the sky is the limit for what this guard can achieve the rest of her career.
