Brooklyn’s competitive spirit, toughness, and ability to go-hard the whole game makes her a joy to watch. She leads Henderson County in points (13) and in rebounds (5) per game and is one of the main reasons why they sit atop the 2nd region once again this season. I like the we attacks the rim and how well she moves without the ball and her ability to make timely basket cuts. Defensively, she slides her feet well enough to keep ball handlers at bay and her size and strength works in her favor when she guards post players. Brooklyn contributes to winning and her production will be important for the Lady Colonels on the road back to Rupp Arena. (Featured Image)

is back and better than ever! I always enjoy watching her compete because she leaves it all on the floor every time. She made an immediate impact when she checked in with a strong finish through contact at the rim. She followed that up with a beautiful “And-1” bucket that got everyone out of their seat.

Henderson County has played 3 games and Gibson already has 2 double-doubles this season. She is averaging 14.7 PPG and 9.3 RPG while shooting 63% from the field and 90.9% from the free throw line. Gibson put together a 14 point, 11 rebound double-double in a win over highly-ranked McCracken County and then followed that up with a 18 point, 13 rebound performance versus another highly-ranked team in Pulaski County. The sophomore showed flashes of what she brings to the court last season, but she is truly shining this season. Henderson County has an excellent history in the 2nd Region and Gibson will be looking to keep them on top this season.

Another big stock riser for Henderson County, Gibson moves up from 43rd to 19th and could move up more in the next couple of updates. Brooklyn is a slasher from off the wing who excels at getting into the paint and finishing. As she becomes more confident in her 3 point shot, her prospect ceiling will keep growing.

Gibson has a lot of skills, and when you take into account that she only just began her freshman year of high school, those skills only become more impressive. She was making some really tough drives to the basket and she was finishing on both sides of the rim. Gibson has excellent length. She uses her length well to grab rebounds and to alter shots defensively. I said this on Saturday, but when I looked down at the roster and saw Gibson was only a 2026, I was shocked because she was playing like an experienced vet.
