Howell is a great example of “keep it simple” scouting. Does the player consistently produce? Yes, if so there’s probably a spot for her at the next level. With every viewing this spring and summer, Howell was an eye catcher because of her consistent production. She’s strong and determined around the rim. But also can put it on the floor in transition, or attack in the face up situations. There was also a viewing where she put on a clinic as a screener, either rolling after setting a strong screen, slipping or popping out and setting up for her quality mid-range jumper. The small town Oklahoma standout was rewarded for her stellar grassroots campaign with a commitment to Henderson State (AR).

Game Watched: JYD 2025 vs Afton Fog Elite
Howell had her opponents in the spin cycle all game long, as her timing and moments on ball screens was seemingly unstoppable. She’d either slip the screen or set a tough one and then navigate to the open pockets where she was efficient around the rim. Along with the advanced degree in setting screens, the Ripley forward treated every rebound like it was hers. This rebounding tenacity was apparent on both ends of the court. She even blocked a few shots and showed promise in the 15-18 range as a shooter as well.
Howell has impressed in multiple viewings this spring and summer, and with her combo skill, size and toughness is currently a diamond in the rough.

A nice coast to coast take, that saw Howell navigate by a couple of defenders was an good example of her skill as a forward who has moments of putting it on the floor. But her game is more than that, as she has a “country strong” type vibe to how she plays. She crashes into opponents while fighting for rebounds, playing to her strength with the right type of attitude. It’s important to get live viewings of prospects like Howell, because the skill and good athleticism was apparent on “tape”. But the toughness and mentality become more apparent and loud when watching how she goes about handling her business.

Hudl LinkrnThe small town standout has Double Double highlight videos all over her Hudl page. They all showcase her active qualities on the glass, with a double double performance against Red Oak showing her all around game. In that game she hit in the mid-range and a three pointer. While also there being an instance of her grabbing a defensive board, pushing it, giving it up, continuing to run and getting it back for a lefty score at the rim. Another Double Double performance against Regent Prep showed more of her ability to put it on the floor in the halfcourt as a face up threat, with more lefty finishes.
