About Carly

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m an athletic, fast-paced player who loves to push the tempo and create opportunities for my team. I have strong court vision and excellent ball-handling skills that help me break down defenses and find open teammates. I can score from all three levels — at the rim, in the mid-range, and from the perimeter. Defensively, I take pride in applying pressure, forcing turnovers, and setting the tone w

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m a competitor who loves to win and hates to lose. I bring energy and intensity every time I step on the court and take pride in doing whatever my team needs to succeed. I’m coachable, hardworking, and always looking for ways to improve. I stay composed under pressure and try to lead by example through effort, attitude, and teamwork.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m a member of the National Honor Society and a three-sport varsity athlete in volleyball, basketball, and softball. I’ve also competed at the club level in all three. A recent mission trip to Honduras gave me the chance to serve youth in need and experience a new perspective on teamwork and gratitude.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Playing multiple sports has built my leadership, discipline, and teamwork. I’ve learned how to stay positive, communicate, and push through challenges. Community service has strengthened my empathy and commitment to helping others on and off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Balancing three varsity sports with schoolwork and community involvement has pushed me to manage my time and stay disciplined. It hasn’t always been easy, but those challenges have taught me perseverance, focus, and how to stay committed to my goals even when things get tough.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college where I can compete at a high level, be challenged academically, and grow as both a student and an athlete. I want a strong team culture, supportive coaches, and an environment that values hard work, faith, and community.

Carly is someone I was able to see for the first time in the Spring, and I really like the balance in her game. She has nice length at her height, she plays with speed and quickness, and she understands how to change speeds depending on the situation. She is probably most comfortable working off screens, finding open jumpers, and being able to counter by attacking the basket as well. At the same time, she is a capable ball-handler, she can initiate the offense, or she can use the dribble to create for her teammates.
