Not only is Turner one of our unsung heroes, a great case can be made that she is underrated. Given she plays for one of the state’s premier 5A Division 1 powers in Byrnes, Turner is perhaps one of the more higher profile names on this list. Last season’s Rebels team finished the 2024-25 season with a record of 19-9 plus an 11-3 mark in its region. Turner averaged 6.8 points and 6.4 rebounds this past season playing in 25 of Byrnes’ 28 games last season. The rebounding stat had her second on the team in boards last season. Turner adds depth to the Rebels’ frontcourt and that depth will be a reason Byrnes will once again be a force to be reckoned with this coming season.

Last season, Turner had her best season to date on a Byrnes group that once again was one of the teams to beat in the 5A Division 1 ranks. She will be key to another winning campaign in 2025-25 for the Rebels. She is confident in her ability to make plays and displays this by calling for the ball. Turner plays with her back to the basket and approaches every game with a fearless attitude. She has no issues going to work in the low post even against multiple defenders. Turner knows how to take care of the ball, does not shy away from physicality and is willing to work hard for those buckets in close proximity to the rim.

We at Prep Girls Hoops have extensively chronicled Turner’s career and her rise up the Palmetto State’s girls basketball ranks. From her travel career which included stints with SC Rebels and Upward Stars to her high school accomplishments with 5A Division 1 Byrnes, Turner is a reason why Byrnes is a team to beat in this state. The bread and butter of her game is what she gets accomplished in the interior. As effective a scorer and a rebounder as she is, she also has no problems working hard to convert on those high-percentage attempts close to the basket. Turner can corral offensive rebounds and has no issues drawing contact to get to the free throw line.

Turner represents a team in Upstate Rebels 2026 whose home base is not that far away from where the Upward Star Center is located. She proved exactly why she is rising up the ranks at 5A Byrnes. Turner was a major reason why her team finished with a 4-2 record this past weekend at the Triumph Region Finals. She was one of the centerpieces of what Upstate Rebels 2026 was getting accomplished in the frontcourt. Among that is her ability to corral offensive rebounds. Opposing bigs have a tall task on their hands guarding her given how she fuses together talent with the presence she presents in the paint.

Upstate Rebels 2026’s fortunes began to turn around later in the afternoon as the first day of the Triumph Region Finals drove on. By virtue of a 16-point performance, Turner led her team to a one-sided victory to dispatch of Richmond Heat 2027. Turner brings plenty of height and stature to Upstate Rebels 2026 as she stands at 5-foot-10. That height combined with talent comes in very useful when converting on high-percentage shot opportunities. Turner is willing to play the game on contact and take her opportunities at the free throw line. Twelve of her 16 points came in the second half.
