Scherpereel was one of the opening day standouts I caught at the event, and seeing her handling her business in the championship was nice see evaluations here. Her smoothness under pressure and ability to understand how to get hers “in the flow” as well as “take over offensively” when needed are just things you can’t teach. Off the dribble, creating her shot for the pull-up, as well as seeing the floor, were all on full display, yet her defense and playing the passing lane also looked good

Scherpereel gets the #THROWBACK hashtag for being “vocal on the court” and her being assertive on both ends was fun for me to see. She applied baseline to baseline pressure defensively, she scored on putbacks after rebounding against taller players, she also gave me the catch and shoot, as well as scoring off the dribble, yet seeing her playing the passing lane JUST DID IT for me
