The rising sophomore put together a sensational freshman campaign, leading John Hardin with 27.2 points and 10.8 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 54% from the field, 38% from three-point range, and 77% from the free-throw line. McCurry has quickly become a hot-commidity this spring and summer while playing up with Lady Phenom United 17U. High-major offers have continue to pour in, and the four-star prospect is currently ranked No. 24 in the ESPN Terrific 25.

I made sure to make my way to College Park Gym to get a look at Charlotte. An athletic big guard with brute strength and a physical nature that really stands out. She is explosive on the glass, and secures rebounds at the highest point. She continues to look much improved as a perimeter shooter, and I also like her ability to score from the post. Charlotte made the right reads in transition, and thrives on making players around her better. She also had a thunderous block on defense and was impactful on that end of the floor. She jumps off the page every time I watch her play and there is not many weaknesses in her game. Charlotte is amongst the Nation’s top 2029 prospects for a reason.

Charlotte put up video game numbers all season for John Hardin, averaging 27.2 points (top five in the state), 10.8 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 3.2 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game. She earned First Team All-5th Region honors and was named Second Team All-State. Charlotte also surpassed 1,500 career points and 500 rebounds and is also on the ESPN Class of 2029 Watch List.

She erupted for 42 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, and four steals against Valley, followed by 38 points, nine rebounds, four assists, five steals, and a block versus CAL. If that wasn’t enough, she added 33 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block in a narrow win over Adair County yesterday, continuing an incredible stretch of performances.

As a freshman, Charlotte has been nothing short of sensational. She recently poured in 36 points with 14 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block to lead her team to the Smokey Mountain Winter Classic Championship, surpassing 500 career rebounds along the way. She followed that up with 37 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks in another win. Charlotte has also set a new school record for most points in a winning game, scoring 43 points while adding 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals. Already a career rebounder and nearing 1,500 points, she’s off to a historic start in her high school career.

Charlotte is an absolute BEAST! This freshman could step onto a college floor today and compete! She is a big, strong guard with the complete offensive package, elite defensive instincts, and a nonstop motor! Already holding multiple Division I offers, including Virginia Tech, she is proving why the hype is real!

She is averaging 27.1 points per game, shooting 59.7% from the field, 48.4% from three, 77% from the free throw line, and adding 10.5 rebounds per game!

Charlotte set the tone defensively from the opening tip, getting a steal and securing a tough rebound that she converted into her first bucket. She came up with multiple steals in the first quarter, stayed active on the glass, and consistently created second-chance opportunities with her own put-backs. She nailed a wing three and finished the first half with 11 points, all while dropping dimes throughout the game and constantly looking to get her teammates involved. She plays the right way and makes everyone around her better. In the third quarter, she showcased her deep shooting range with a long three, then began imposing her will even more on the offensive end. Her tremendous court vision, ability to score at all three levels, and all-around impact were on full display.

Charlotte then turned heads on the Adidas Circuit playing up with Lady Phenom United 16U, where she was named to the 16U All-Circuit Second Team. Entering her freshman season with four Division I offers in hand, she projects as a future high-major prospect.

Charlotte walked away with a D-I offer from Dayton University. She is clearly a star in the making, and she’s only just getting started.

Charlotte is a certified bucket getter. As an 8th grader, McCurry averaged 22 points per game and proved she can get her offense going even when the opposing team is focused on stopping her. She lives at the free throw line, averaging just under 6 made free throws per game. It’s very early but Charlotte looks like she should score over 3,000 points in her career.
