Carlson showed off her shooting range early in the game, something that she is very well known for. However, Claire is not just a shooter as she proved getting to the basket and scoring on multiple occasions as well as grabbing an offensive rebound, gathering herself, and knocking down a close, but tough fadeaway jumper from the just outside the block. She and Kersh traded off running the point throughout that game, something Carlson may be called upon to do next year at Middle Georgia College where she signed to continue her basketball career in college. Carlson also did a nice job finding open teammates, especially off the dribble where she drew help from the defense all night.

The state championship winning playmaker has length and court vision. She’s a great passer and a dangerous three-point shooter with deep range. The rangy guard is a huge factor on defense, routinely gathering steals and blocking shots. Carlson stuffs the stat sheet nightly. Adding a downhill element to her game will help her off the dribble game. D-II programs should be all over her with small D-I schools tracking.

Claire racked up 23 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 1 block, guiding Cherokee Bluff to their first state title, beating Baldwin 66-58. Carlson’s versatility was on full display as she knocked down threes, used her length to force turnovers and created for others as a distributor.

In the first round of the 3A State Playoffs, Claire came incredibly close to averaging a quadruple-double, with mind-blowing stats of 25 points, 10 assists, 10 steals, and 8 rebounds. Her all-around performance was a game-changer! In the Sweet 16 game, she kept the momentum going with another stellar performance, putting up 20 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and 5 blocks. She continues to dominate on both ends of the floor, proving she’s one of the best in the game!

Has wicked court vision with great confidence to whip in daring one-handed cross-court passes. Will be asked to score a lot more this season and showed the ability to do so this summer. Shoots the three with deep-range. Is crafty with the ball and has room to grown even more as a slithery penetrator.
