The 5’9 forward might be a shiny diamond in the rough. We’re about to find out this winter. Her performance at the PGH Expo showed off plenty of energy. She defended hard, battled for rebounds and dove for loose balls. Offensively she flashed quickness, post touches, and a willingness to bang inside. Coachable and responsive, Utes is a quick learner. Don’t be surprised if Claire comes up big for the Royals this winter. She’s up to the task.

Utes brought the energy for Team 4 at the PGH Expo. With a high-revving motor, the 5’9 forward gave her all on the defensive end. Claire never hesitated to fight for boards or to get on the ground for a loose ball. On the offensive side she showed both her quickness and a willingness to post up in the paint. We were impressed with the Rogers senior’s coachability on the floor; she took input from coaches and applied it to her game almost instantly. With some more development in her ball handling and understanding of the game, Utes can play a key role for the Royals this winter.
