Her tough 2-way play had a great influence as she showed up in a plethora of ways on the court. Cortney is a real gamer with a great feel for the game. Her 24 ppg came in impressive fashion.

Cortney has been showing up in a critical way for St. Mark’s. She’s already been mentioned this season for her impressive performance, but here Howell is again after a 59-52 win over Thayer. In this matchup Cortney had a double-double with 25 pts while also bringing in 10 reb. It’s looking like it’ll be hard for the competition to put a stop to the high-motor forward.

Howell is a high-motor player that gives creates beneficial opportunities to exploit because of her ability to be a natural mismatch in any game, depending on what her role is. She can play in smallball lineups with her top-level athleticism, plus that aggressive defensive prowess comes in handy at plenty of points throughout a game. Howell has shown to be capable to keep the production up even out on the perimeter too. Cortney can create a bit, shoot from many areas on the court, has a soft touch around the rim, plus she’s a solid passer. Her overall utilitarian nature on the floor has countless perks.

Cortney is a high functioning forward that leans on her athleticism to make an impression on both sides of the ball. She has the ability to hit a steady catch & shoot 3-pointer and also can push the pace for transition points. Defensively, Howell uses her sprinting ability to her advantage on the defensive end to get around post players for steals. She can also switch out on perimeter players in screen actions too.
