Dakota averaged 13 points, over seven rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game this year for her Heathwood Hall team. This is a kid with a lot of potential if she will continue to put the work in. She has a next level basketball frame standing 6’1. She is definitely a player to keep your eye on as she develops.

The standout freshman for Heathwood Hall is a primary reason why the Highlanders remain a force to be reckoned with in SCISA’s competitive 4A ranks. Jenkins concluded her day at 5A Division 1 Clover with eight points in a defensive-minded 36-31 contest with 4A public Lancaster – one where the Bruins proved victorious. Jenkins’ height ensures that opposing teams will have a hard time scoring in the interior as she can block many a shot. It also ensures that she will come out on the good end of many a rebounding battle and she will display her offensive versatility with her willingness to attempt from long range.

The new nucleus of all things SCISA 4A Heathwood Hall commenced this season’s GRAD Athletics Thanksgiving Classic by leading her Highlanders to a 44-30 victory over 4A public Brookland-Cayce. Jenkins finished Monday afternoon’s contest with 21 points – including 12 in the second half of play. With her height, Jenkins will not only win plenty of rebounding battles, but does not shy away from physicality especially in the interior as she knows it can give her plenty of chances at the free throw line. She is also a defensive playmaker as she is difficult to score on in close proximity to the basket.

– all of whom will graduate following next season. This past weekend at Lexington HS, one saw a glimpse of what the Highlanders future will resemble. Jenkins also plays junior varsity softball at Heathwood Hall alongside her basketball play. She stands at an imposing 6-foot-1 which allows her to win plenty of rebounding battles. Good luck scoring on this patroller of the paint as her height combined with her length enable her to reject plenty of opposing shot attempts.
