About Dalia
Expert Analysis
Byron Xerxes Livsey | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Quincy will be getting a player who can legitimately average a double double. DeJesus has a well balanced skillset that leans toward her offensive abilities, but with her frame, she can impact the game on the defensive end as well. Don’t be surprised if she’s able to compete for starter level minutes in year one. A program changer type of prospect.

Dalia had already cemented herself in Illinois history before making the trip downstate, but the way she capped it off deserves its respect. Moving into a new class always brings a level of doubt, yet from the start of the season, she separated herself and quickly became the focal point of a program that already had plenty of pieces around her. Her ability to score from all levels, defend multiple positions, and still play a selfless brand of basketball is what made her presence stand out. Quincy is getting a high tier type of player and teammate. | Tournament Average – 23.5ppg, 11.5rebs

What a game! That one be one phrase that comes to mind when talking about Dalia’s performance in the semi-finals. She showcased her ability to find her shots, and knock them down. Dejesus is an all around star, that doesn’t stop at scoring. She always crashes the boards hard, creating extra chances for her team. Dalia took over every single facet of this game, and will look to do it all over again in the state championship. Quincy University is getting a good one here.

Dalia has been leading this team all year, especially on the offensive side of the ball, and it shows when the game starts to settle in. Her game is smooth and intentional, and she knows how to get to her spots. As the game moved into the second half, she began to take over. Not just from a scoring standpoint, but in the small moments that start to tilt a game. She was active on the boards, active on the ball, and turned herself into a paint blanket whenever action got near the rim. What makes it even more intriguing is that she is nowhere near her peak and still has a ton of levels to unlock, which is saying a lot. | 31 pts, 10 rebs, 4 blks, 4 stls

Dalia a Quincy University commit, is the key to this team. She can do it all between scoring, distributing, and playing good defense. Dejesus lets the game come to her and never seems to be forcing it.

The ultimate momentum shifter. Dalia does more than score the ball for her team, and knowing that she commands most of the eyes, she seems to know how to use that as an advantage to help her teammates score the ball as well. If they were to find themselves in some close game situations, I believe Dejesus will be ready to take the game over, but also has the trust in her team to make a play for them, which is a dangerous situation for a team to guard.

Dalia has remained one of the best players, let alone wings, in this class since her freshman year. This past week, she etched her name into the record books by reaching 2,000 career points. She is a player who can score from all over the court while also making the players around her better. An all-state type of talent.

Coming off a season with only four losses, Dejesus is set to lead her team on another deep playoff run, this time in 1A. She’s already etched her name in the record books at Deer Creek, but the one goal still out there is a trip to the state finals. She’s a player who consistently has three to five sets of eyes watching her, but she’s handled that pressure before and proven she can still dominate. Expect her to do the same again this season.

More publicity, bigger stages, in my opinion, is all Dalia needs to secure those offers. This kid has the talent, and I’m betting the work ethic matches. She’s a do-it-all type of player that can be useful in whatever role she’s placed in, but has been showing off her ability to score for the past couple of years.

Dejesus has been on a mission to get her team downstate, and with the 2A class being up in the air due to some teams losing key players, this could be the year. Dalia has improved in a multitude of ways over the past couple of years, but her ability to show up when she’s needed most is what stands out. Yes, she’s had some huge scoring moments and games, but she does so much more that doesn’t get talked about. She is a Division I player in my opinion, she just needs more visibility. All she needs is the right coach from the right program to see her at the right time.
