A sleeper in the 2027 class. This kid can play! She has an excellent body and size to play out on the perimeter as a small forward. She is confident in her game play and has a very nice stoke. Her three-point shot is consistent, and she has proven she can score in multiple ways. Lanie can attack from the wing or hi post area fluently and finish with contact. She also showed a very nice turnaround jumper in the mid post area if she needed to be a power forward.

Another unranked prospect to make this list is Lanie Dameron from McDowell High School and Team Hickory AAU. Standing at 6’0, the lanky wing player flexed her versatility here at the EXPO. From playing inside and posting smaller matchups, to stretching the floor with her outside shooting, Lanie is a highly underrated utility knife of a player. Her length allows her to guard bigger players and contest shots with great efficiency. Throw in her unselfish nature as a pass first player and the future for Lanie is bright. In each contest Sunday Lanie scored from the outside, defended well, and had multiple assist. Look for her to have a great close to her high school season.

Lanie was a player I had not really seen play before. I was familiar with Sanai Corpening Sanai Corpening 5'9" | CG/PF McDowell | 2027 State NC from McDowell from playing in the Insider Exposure Cherokee Invitational in high school this season. Dameron was not someone I remembered, however it only took about a second and the ball to be tossed in the air for the jump for me to notice her spring off the floor at over six feet tall and win the tip easily. She would use that length and athleticism to patrol the paint all weekend long for Team Hickory, where she was excellent blocking shots on defense and rebounding the ball on both ends. Her efforts on the offensive boards led to multiple put backs or Lanie being fouled and going to the free throw line. Cameron showed that she can shoot the ball from the perimeter showing nice form and fundamentals knocking down a three in one game I watched. If I were a college coach in Juco or at a smaller school in the southeast, Dameron is a player I would definitely have my eye on. She has a lot of raw talent to go with her size and is far from being the finished product as a player!
