Dawn gives George Washington the true point guard presence the program has been looking for this season. She has the ability to organize the offense, create for teammates and keep the game under control. When her team needs a spark she is also capable of creating her own offense.

This PG is must see! Playing for Tru Colorado 15U, she checks all of the boxes. She has crazy quick handles to push the ball up the court and to get through traffic. She takes care of the ball well in the half court, seeing her teammates well and getting them the ball in their scoring spots. Don’t let the 5’5″ fool you. Diaz has no fear. She gets to the paint and gets buckets among the tallest players. She is an all around offensive threat hitting jumpers from mid-range and behind the arch. Defensively, her quickness means big trouble for other teams. She picks up full court, pushing dribblers to traps and getting her own steals. In the half court, Dawn is creeping in passing lanes and creating trouble for unsuspecting post players in the paint. Get to know this PG this grassroots summer, she is one to watch.

Due to an ongoing health issue, we didn’t get to see a full season from Dawn — but what she’s shown lately has been enough to remind everyone what she’s capable of. She’s one of the best pure shooters in the class, able to create and convert from deep whether she’s working on the ball or coming off screens. Her range stretches the floor and makes defenses pay for even a sliver of space. But she’s more than a shooter Dawn has real point guard instincts, able to push tempo, read the floor, and create transition opportunities with ease. As she gets back to full strength, expect her to be one of the top guards to watch.

Dawn ran the show for Tru Colorado , always keeping her head up and finding teammates in scoring positions. She brought her own offense to the floor as well, getting into the lane to finish with floaters. She also used her handle to create space and knock down shots from beyond the arc.
