is coming into her matchup against Glenwood Springs with all the momentum she could ask for. Averaging a double-double and making her presence known on the interior, Burns’ footwork allows her to get off close-range looks in the paint while shooting over defenders at 6’0. Her all-around poise and confidence have taken Sierra far, as she’s come up huge when it’s mattered most this season. Defensively, Burns has been all over the place, averaging a jaw-dropping 5.3 BPG along with just under 4 SPG. Watch out, because

The energy Deja brings on a game to game basis makes it no surprise to see her at the top of this list. She has the ability to block a shot on the defensive end and then come right back to finish through contact on the other end. That two-way impact continues to set the tone for her team.

is an athletic player who has switched into more of a wing role. She can handle the ball in traffic, initiate offense, and stay involved in the action while still putting the ball in the basket when needed. Her shot keeps defenses honest making her all-around game something to talk about.

Burns is very exciting to watch, she is not your normal post player. At 6’0″, she has the fundamental skills to get points on the block. Her footwork is great and she uses her power well to earn buckets and freethrows from her play in the paint. Deja is incredibly quick and has really good handles for a post player. She can easily pull her defenders away from the basket to get around them for layups or 2pt jumpers. That quickness is another advantage for Burns as she outruns players to both ends for easy layups and to be a defensive stop for her team. On D, she is again a force all over the floor. She uses her strength to get stops in the paint, but also she can be put on the wing to use her height to get traps and steals from dribblers and shooters. A productive exposure summer is ripe for the picking for Burns.

Deja was a walking double-double during her junior season. She put pressure on defenses with her aggressive drives, finding ways to score at the rim or earn trips to the free-throw line. Her ability to control the paint makes her a matchup problem.

Power Forward is the perfect description for Deja. She is tall, powerful, and skilled. At 6’0″, she is strong and tough in the paint. Burns is a reliable target for her team on the block. She has excellent footwork for playing with her back to basket, she can also faceup and finish strong. She is definitely going to get rebounds, on both offense and defense. She has a great eye for the ball in the air, and great hands to grab the ball. At her height it is great to watch her never afraid to pull her taller defenders away and hit open jumpers at 10-15 feet. Defensively, Deja can get the needed stops in the post and she can help on smaller wing players, getting powerful blocks when needed. Burns is poised to led Sierra into a long post season.

Outstanding athlete that has a long wing span. Great jumping ability and timing allowed to be a shot blocker all weekend. The defensive impact inside the paint was a game changer for her team in the game I watched. Crashes the offensive boards tracking down the rebound for second chance points.

A tall and long small forward that can impacted the game with her shot blocking ability. Opposing teams attacking the paint came to a stop knowing that she was rotating over to block the shot. Great hands on offense grabbing some tough lob passes. Exceled in the pick and roll game for team. Patient waiting for the defense to commit to the ball handling then slipping towards the basket. A player you must box out cause she will go crash the offensive glass. Most of offensive scoring came on put backs.
