She has good length at the guard position that helps her grab rebounds, see over smaller defenders to pass to open teammates and long arms to grab steals.

When matching up against 2A Landrum, containing Caldwell has to be one of the top items on a wish list for a defense. The Centurions of 3A Broome could not contain Caldwell. With a 28-point outburst, Caldwell was a major catalyst in a Cardinals rout of the Centurions. Caldwell has a second gear that she can activate at will whenever she has the ball in her hands. That speed combined with her ability to find driving lanes to the basket and finish strong at the rim make Caldwell difficult to keep in check. Caldwell’s 2A Landrum team may not have achieved the result it was in search of on Saturday against a tough 5A Division 1 Boiling Springs team. She still made her presence known in her debut with the Cardinals. Caldwell tallied 23 points to ensure Landrum stayed in the matchup with the Bulldogs from start to finish. The sophomore who transferred from Spartanburg Christian overcame early struggles to score 16 of her 23 in the second half. Caldwell stands nearly at six feet but has the ball handling and rim attacking skills of many guards. She uses not only her height but her length to finish strong at the rim and convert on tough shots.

One of the stories of this past season in the SCISA ranks was the emergence of Spartanburg Christian as a true contender. Caldwell’s play took the Warriors from five wins in 2023-24 to an 18-win campaign last season and a semifinal berth in the 3A state playoffs. She nearly averaged a double-double in her freshman season. Caldwell played in 25 games last season for Spartanburg Christian and averaged 23 points, 9.9 rebounds and 4.3 steals a contest. Her standing at 5-foot-9 makes her taller than one’s average point guard as well. Similar numbers this season from Caldwell can give plenty of Spartanburg Christian backers visions of playing in Sumter in February.
