This was the silent assassin on team five. Avery did a little bit of everything and did it well. She was always around the ball making plays for her team. She came up with timely deflections and steals on defense and on offense she would make the winning play by knowing the game and having a great IQ. Caldwell drained several threes during the showcase and displayed a strong left hand attacking the basket.

Simply the best shot blocking guard in attendance. Avery plays much longer than her size indicates, and showed fantastic timing on multiple occasions. More than once on the day Avery challenged shots at the rim and came away with several nice snatch blocks. It only took one in each game before opposing guards started trying to avoid her completely for fear of becoming the next victim of an Avery highlight.

After helping her high school Lady Cardinals to a state championship this spring, Avery jumped right into her grassroots spring and summer with the Pasadena Stars out of Greenville, SC. Avery is a high IQ player that is constantly gauging how best to help her team be successful between the lines. A capable shooter, passer, and finisher around the rim, she is poised to continue her upward trajectory for many more years here in the upstate. Look for Avery to make an immediate impact this weekend playing against some of the other top talent from across the Carolinas.
