We can forget about what place Morristown-Hamblen West finished. Just note, they finished strong to come out with a win on Tuesday against North Greene. Delaney was stellar in the game! She finished with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. She was able to showcase how versatile she is & she scored in numerous ways. Carson-Newman is getting a great athlete!

is going to have a huge year. She’s a D1 guard for a reason (Carson Newman offered her in August). She was perhaps the best player (if not simply the best scorer) for Trotters ’25 Heifner this summer. Every time I watch her I was impressed. Her intangibles are great at 5’10 with springy athleticism. She’s also really skilled as a 3 level scorer. She got high IQ and understands how to get to her spots without forcing the issue. Her playmaking off the bounce is much improved, and she’s an above average rebounder for her position.

Weddington is the athlete that can GO! Delaney was putting everyone on an island and getting past defenders with ease all day. She has the ability to get to the rim when she wants! Every time that I watch Delaney, I say, “Wow, this kid can play!!” When she is on the court, you know that she can attack and use the separation that she creates to get easy buckets! She is crafty at the rim, whether it’s finishing the beautiful reverse layups or dishing out the assist. This one was definitely a top athlete at the Elite 80!

has been great all spring for Trotters ’25 Heifner, and she’s continued her roll this weekend. In a tough loss to FGB GUAA, she had 15 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and a 1 block. She’s been their best scorer all spring, and she’s carried that through the live period.

Weddington, Delaney: professional scorer. When this team needs a bucket, Weddington seems to be in the right place at the right time. Never forces the issue, but still gets to her spots at will. Does a great job understanding where the help is coming from, and her “rim reads” are great: do you continue to attack the rim or spray to a shooter?

Had 19 last night, and kept it rolling. Attacks the rim well. Showed off the floater and power finishes through contact. Really impressive passing ability out of the double when then posted her up. Hit the three with confidence. Love her game.

It’s the first live period, and Delaney is going to make sure college coaches leave the court knowing her name! I’m not a coach, but I made plenty of notes for any that want to reach out about this athlete! She is a next level athlete and if you are waiting to pull the trigger on this one, I don’t know why. She can score in bunches & in various ways. She can hit the mid-range or the long ball. She also finishes at the rim strong & great with either hand! She plays off two feet, and she can play off one if that’s what would be needed. Honestly, she is a really good, fundamentally sound player that plays with a non-stop motor. Offer this one now!

continues to impress at every level. Trotters ’25 (Heifner) is at the AAU qualifier in Lafallette this weekend. They pulled out a tough win last night and Weddington was the best player on the floor. She finished with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. She continues to be a kid that contributes across the board statistically, and is a scrappy defender and rebounder.

is my kind of player! She does everything according to what her coaches ask, and what her team needs. Defensively, she’s capable of locking up the oppositions best player. That’s a given for her. Offensively, she’s really turned herself into a diverse ball player that is hard to define by position. TFT Heifner gives her the freedom to make reads, and simply play the game. She’s really smart about when to attack a closeout, when to swing the ball, when to cut….etc.

Morristown West beat Dobyns Bennet 52-48 on Tuesday night in a fun one. Weddington continues to show up and show out in big games! She finished with 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Jhaniya Mitchel had 12, and MW did just enough to keep up their winning ways. West doesn’t have that one BIG TIME scorer, but they have enough weapons with their multi-pronged attacked to beat a lot of good ball clubs.
