capped off her excellent career with her best yet at PVI. There may not be a better finisher going to their left than Demi, and she is a two-way star. She is a disruptive defender with good athleticism and length, and she guards multiple positions. Her passing is terrific, and she was by far this team’s best playmaker. The jump shot is not there yet, but besides that, she does basically everything at an elite level. She was first team all-state and first team all-conference in the WCAC.

Gilliam delivered a strong two-way performance, using her length and timing to alter shots and control the paint. She secured blocks, took multiple charges, and turned defensive stops into transition opportunities. Offensively, she finished smoothly through contact and converted key free throws to tie the game late. Gilliam’s motor and physical presence anchored Paul VI on both ends of the floor.

Demi was so good at getting to her spot for the lefty finish. She is an excellent rebounder with good anticipation of where the board will land. She was effective of attacking from the wing and high post and I wanted to see more. The Panthers got bounced by Bishop McNamara and with Demi being a senior I’ll be looking forward to seeing her at the next level.

Demi, the James Madison University commit, demonstrated that she is prepared for the next level. What stood out most was her understanding of pace and flow—she never forced the action, instead allowing the game to develop and capitalizing on what the defense gave her.
Her versatility and confidence kept defenders off balance throughout the night. From the post, her first step is explosive, routinely putting defenders in recovery mode and drawing contact when they attempt to cut her off. She plays with control, yet applies constant pressure.
On the defensive end, her combination of length and lateral quickness enables her to switch comfortably in the open floor, effectively guarding positions one through four. That two-way impact is what separates her and signals readiness for the next stage.

Demi Gilliam was legit unstoppable going to her left against Archbishop Spalding. Her size and ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim gave them trouble all game. It felt like she got to whatever she wanted to, and it’s how she hit the go-ahead bucket late in a PVI win.

No hesitation off the bounce. Pretty left-handed scoop game AC Academy fits this afternoon. Ultra competitive forward who imposes her game inside & out.

A really good 6 foot 1 prospect who was one of the more coveted players in the state of Virginia! She was able to garner power four offers along with multiple mid-major opportunities as well. An athletic chest piece who has decided to stay close to home to attend James Madison University, which looks like a perfect fit for her skill set!

This PVI team has a lot of question marks, with some new faces starting and a good amount of players transferring out or graduating. One of the constants is do it all forward

. Demi’s all-around play is why she is one of the most impactful players in the state. Her passing is elite, and she was great today on both ends of the floor. She had 18 points in a win over Friends Central, then had another strong game in a last-minute win over St. Frances.

A versatile player that can be has the upside to be a point forward and play the wing. Demi has great size and can handle the ball on the perimeter. Great athlete she uses a combination of speed and power to get down hill. Very active on the defensive end and can guard all three perimeter positions including front court if needed.

Demi is a long wing that can go from back the basket to facing up to hitting a three. Being left handed, she seems to throw off defenders with her drives as many lefties do. She is an excellent rebounder and starts the break off of the board without hesitation. She has the size to make the transition smoothly to college.
